چکیده

Rare earth element-doped bismuth oxides with the fluorite structure (δ-Bi2O3) exhibit high oxygen ion conductivity at low temperature, which is promising electrolyte materials for intermediate-temperature solid oxide fuel cells (IT-SOFCs). However, traditional co-sintering process not applicable to manufacturing of IT-SOFCs using melting point Bi2O3-based electrolyte, while further high-temperature processing required deposition electrolytes. In this study, plasma spraying was used examine possibility deposit high-performance electrolytes without following process. (Bi2O3)0.75 (Y2O3)0.25 (YSB) spray powders were prepared by sinter-crushing method. The YSB fabricated different temperatures. effects temperature on coating microstructure, crystalline stability, and investigated. Results showed that as-sprayed present a dense microstructure well-bonded lamellar interfaces. pure δ-phase deposited 37.5-75 μm 350 °C. presented excellent ionic 0.19 S cm−1 700 °C in comparison 0.21 sintered bulk.

La0.6Sr0.4Co0.2Fe0.8O3 perovskite cathode for Intermediate Temperature Solid Oxide Fuel Cells: A comparative study

In this study the characteristics of two different kinds of La0.6Sr0.4Co0.2Fe0.8O3 (LSCF) powders, one in-house synthesized powder by a co-precipitation method and another one purchased from Fuel Cell Materials Co. (FCM Co., USA), were compared. The co-precipitated powder was prepared by using ammonium carbonate as precipitant with a NH4+/NO3- molar ratio of 2 and calcination at 1000C for 1 h....

Novel Mn1.5Co1.5O4 spinel cathodes for intermediate temperature solid oxide fuel cells.

Mn(1.5)Co(1.5)O(4) spinel oxide as a cathode or one component of a composite cathode presents no visible reaction with an Y(2)O(3)-stabilized ZrO(2) electrolyte. The low electrode polarization resistances and good performance compared with traditional Sr-doped LaMnO(3)-YSZ composite cathodes imply promising application for the next generation of intermediate-temperature solid oxide fuel cells.
